About Me...

I was first licensed in the mid 1960s in VE1 land and then moved to the Toronto area in the early 70s. I was issued the call VE3IEO which I still hold today. I was fortunate enough to get VA3IC (my initials) as a call sign in the early 90s and I use it as my primary call.

I enjoy DXing and spend most of my time on CW. I went on a DXpedition to Mellish Reef (VK9ZM) and Willis Island (VK9ZW) in 1989 with a group of guys and enjoyed that a lot. I now have both Mellish Reef and Willis Island confirmed in my own log (finally).

My main station consists of an IC-756PROIII and a IC-PW1 amp as well as an old SB-220. I also enjoy restoring old hollow state gear from years gone by. I have several projects on the go and some waiting to get started. You'll see that I'm a little partial to Hallicrafters. My collection includes (among other items):

What I really need is more time to work on my collection of hollow state treasures.
